Vivo Starts Getting on to Track

Gone are the days when Vivo along with its sister company Oppo was called 'rubbish'. After introducing the world's first under screen fingerprint scanner partnering with Synaptics in CES 2018, it took the tech-world by storm.

Vivo joined the ranks of the top 10 smartphone makers in the first quarter of 2015 with a global market share of 2.7%. It has still gigantic numbers in sale in India and other Asia Pacific counties. However smartphones produced by the giant have always been condemned.

It's obvious that you might have also heard Oppo and Vivo starting the 'selfie trend' in India with their selfie centric devices. They are also notoriously popular in advertisement. Banners and hoardings of the two companies are seen everywhere. They don't fall behind to engage big celebrities as influencers like Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and many others. They also sponsored their brand in Indian Premier League. And moreover started some crappy hashtags like #CaptureTheRealYou.

Even the upper midrange smartphones came with MediaTek low-powerful processors, their copied design of Apple iPhones and the gimmicky Funtouch OS (and Color OS in Oppo) which had not even icons of their own. Only thing that they would show off are their 'selfie camera' which always boasts of huge megapixels. It's no lie that the cameras were very good as mostly sensors used were Sony Exmor lenses.

However, recently it's been rumoured that their upcoming flagship phone, the Xplay7, might be powered by 10GB RAM, 4K OLED display, Snapdragon 845 SoC, up to 512GB storage and obviously the dual camera setup with 18:9 aspect ratio. That means it will be the first phone in the world to feature 10 gigs of mobile RAM. The processor itself the Snapdragon 845 will again push it to another level and I'm really hopeful, this time Vivo may do something really commendable. So let's wait for how things are taking turn. There is currently no update on the pricing and availability it is expected to be available in the coming weeks at a starting price of around $500 (roughly Rs. 31,800).

Now you can whisper to Alexa

Amazon’s Alexa can now listen and respond to whispers, and she will whisper back. Now first, this might set off another wave of anxiety for privacy advocates. Your virtual assistant is not only spying on you and potentially recording or storing your conversations, now she can do even if you tried to keep your voice down. Amazon’s team just made that sensitive microphone function even more acutely. Video demonstrating Alexa whisper: So, why do we need to whisper in the first place? Will it come handy in anyway? Yes. If you whisper, “Echo, play a lullaby,” for the infant who’s almost asleep in your arms, Echo will whisper back, “Here’s a station for lullabies from your Amazon Music library,” instead of screaming at  full startling volume. What's more? Whisper is not the only important feature that will come to Amazon Echo devices this year, we also have bunch of new ones. Guard : Guard will let you say, “Alexa, I’m leaving,” and the device will automatically acti...

Microsoft Edge Arrived for Android and iOS

Last week, Microsoft made a pretty surprising announcement. The company revealed that it would bring its Edge browser to iOS and Android, making it easier for existing Edge users (and possible converts) to take their browsing history, bookmarks, and other data with them. Now the beta app is available for download from the Play Store for some countries. But others can download the APK to give it a try. So how is the browser itself? Well, it feels like a mix of desktop Edge and mobile Chrome. The start page has your frequently-visited pages with a search bar, along with stories from MSN below that (which you can turn off). The UI is split into an address bar and Reading List/History/Bookmarks button at the top, and everything else at the bottom. Both bars pull away as you scroll down the page, and re-appear when you swipe up. Familiar Microsoft Edge features like the Hub allow users to organize the web in a way that cuts through the clutter, making it easier to find, view and manage thei...
